Topic #1 - Yield Comparison, Bond Basics

Why does a bond price below or above par value? We will explore the different ways the yield of a bond can be compared. We will discuss how the magnitude of different yield measures change as the price of the bond changes.

Topic #3 - Option Breakeven Calculations

Option math can be tricky to conceptualize at first, but most students find the problems enjoyable after they master the concept. We will be covering payoff charts for calls and puts, as well as their respective breakeven calculations.

Topic #2 - Common Stock Voting Rights

The board of directors is up for reelection! We will explore how shareholders can allocate their voting rights under cumulative and statutory voting. The voting system used to cast votes can materially impact the governance considerations of the underlying firm.

The market for US treasuries is one of the most liquid in the world. Government securities are tested extensively on the SIE Exam and it’s important to know the different nuisances associated with each instrument. We will explore bills, notes, bonds, STRIPS, TIPS, and agency securities.
